Featuring:  A semi-fitted at the shoulders and bust, relaxed at the waist, woven pull over the head dress with a round neckline, optional functional/non functional placket at the front finished with buttons or snaps. Neckline is finished with a facing. Waistline is located just above the natural waist and has optional ties to tie at the back. The skirt comes in a hi-lo peplum or regular / hi-lo knee length dress. Comes as a sleeveless dress or with short or 3/4 sleeves, or long sleeves gathered with elastic at the wrist or rolled to the 3/4 length. Optional inseam pockets for the dress version. Comes with bust cup sizing A-B / C-D / E-F.    

The pattern offers the following options:

View A - A peplum top with placket and  long sleeves rolled up and secured with a sleeve tab

View B - A peplum top with plain front and short sleeves

View C - A long sleeve dress with placket and regular hem

View D - A sleeveless dress with placket and ties

This pattern is designed for woven fabrics.

Techniques to master: topstitching, understitching, French seams, gathers, hemming, buttonholes, setting in a sleeve

Comes with a detailed tutorial with step by step instructions and photos.

The pdf pattern comes in REGULAR, PETITE and TALL with sizes from XS to 4XL

DIFFICULTY

The pdf pattern is a beginner (3-4/10)  level and moderately easy to sew.
Takes 4-8 hours to finish (time may vary depending on your skills, equipment and supplies).

Light to medium weight woven fabrics (cotton voile, cotton lawn, broadcloth, double gauze, viscose/rayon, linen blends, canvas).

50/60" / 140-160 cm 

For the total yardage, please sum up the required fabric for your options. The yardage is given for both directional and non directional fabric. See cutting layout for more details.

Notions

  1. 0.4 m  / 1/2 yards  in light to medium weight non stretch interfacing to stabilize neckline facings and pocket entrances.
  2. For a placket version - 5 buttons 7-15 mm / 1/4-5/8 in diameter. Alternatievly use snaps.
  3. (long sleeves with elastic cuffs) -  2 pieces of 7-10 mm / 1/4-3/8 in wide elastic approx 18-20 cm / 7-8 in long.

A familiar story, just with…..less.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
